1. Introduction

1.1 What is KTranslator

KTranslator is a KDE utility that edits po/pot files. With this application you could easily search old translation in your compiled catalogues (.mo files) so that your language translations became more uniform.

1.2 Changes

In version 0.5.0 you could find a new interface and a new features.

The most important improvement is the Catalogues Manager that read from your CVS local copy (CVS/kde-i18n) many information about the status of your translations.

In order to use the Catalogues Manager you need to specify in Option->Setup->files the full path of your kde-i18n module copy

Example:
/usr/local/kde/cvs_local_copy/kde-i18n

1.3 How to obtain KTranslator

1.4 Requirements

KTranslator need KDE 1.1.x and qt 1.4x .

You require a copy of kde-i18n module of KDE CVS if you want to use the Catalogues Manager.

1.5 Compilation and installation

In order to compile and install KTranslator on your system, type the following in the base directory of the KTranslator distribution:

% ./configure
% make
% make install

Since KTranslator uses

autoconf
you should have not trouble compiling it. Should you run into problems please report them to the the author at Andrea Rizzi
